After my starter got filled with mud it ate its own internals. The whole thing was shot. So I though the Mean Grean (MG) would be a better starter anyway!
After a few good off road trips the new MG starter failed to start. I would have to hit it with the 3lbs hammer (one of the most important tools to have) and then it would work for several more starts. I called MG and they had me ship it to them and they fixed it no questions asked. Took about a week with ground shipping.
In doing general work in this area I also replaced the starter relay, installed dual optima batteries and replaced the starter and ground wiring with 2GA wires.
